Peruvian scientists have discovered a 10-12 million-year-old fossil of a young marine crocodile in the Ocucaje desert. This three-meter-long specimen is the first juvenile of its kind found, with an elongated snout suggesting a fish-based diet. The fossil, found in near-perfect condition, differs from modern crocodiles and alligators, with the Indian gharial being its closest living relative.
