The Royal Navy has tested the "Robot Rib," an autonomous drone boat, for the first time in UK waters. The Pacific 24 rigid inflatable boat was successfully piloted both autonomously and remotely from the experimental ship XV Patrick Blackett off the Hampshire coast. Equipped with cameras and sensors, the boat can conduct reconnaissance and defense missions, reducing risks to sailors. This trial marks a step towards integrating autonomous technology in naval operations.
