A private modern art museum opens in Almaty, Kazakhstan, featuring works by global artists.

The Almaty Museum of Arts, set to open in 2025 in Kazakhstan's largest city, is Central Asia's first private modern and contemporary art museum. Designed by British architects Chapman Taylor, the 9,400-square-meter museum will house over 700 works from Kazakh and international artists, including pieces by Richard Serra and Bill Viola. Founded by Nurlan Smagulov, the museum aims to promote regional art and engage global audiences with experimental spaces and educational programs.
