Norway may buy up to six U.S. Navy frigates, a key part of its largest military expansion.

Norway is considering the U.S. Navy's Constellation-Class Frigate to expand its navy fleet, aiming to procure five or six new ships in its largest military investment. The frigate, designed for anti-submarine warfare, is one of four foreign designs under consideration. Norway expects to choose a design and strategic partner in 2025. Fincantieri Marine Group and its Norwegian sister company, Vard, propose building the ships in Norway.
