Nigeria's road safety agency plans to revoke licenses and prosecute drivers involved in fatal crashes.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Nigeria plans to revoke licenses and prosecute drivers or fleet operators involved in fatal crashes. Announced at the annual Safety Manager Retreat, the new measures include issuing pre-action notices for prosecution, suspending operators who fail certification standards twice, and requiring vehicles to have functional speed limiting devices. The Nigerian Minister of Transportation noted that over 90% of road crashes are due to human factors and called for a unified approach to road safety.
