Nigeria spends $21 million repairing damaged towers, aims to electrify 50 million by 2030.

The Nigerian government has spent N8.8 billion repairing 128 vandalized transmission towers across the country this year. Despite arresting vandals, they are often bailed and continue damaging towers. The government, in collaboration with the World Bank and African Development Bank, plans to provide electricity to 50 million Nigerians by 2030 through various initiatives like solar and grid extension projects.
