New Zealand has modernized its trade certification system, supporting $33 billion in exports, to improve reliability and adaptability. The Food Safety Minister Andrew Hoggard highlighted that the new system, initially benefiting the wine sector under the EU Free Trade Agreement, will replace six older systems. The modernization, rolling out in stages, will next target plant and animal products, including dairy, aiming to make the certification process more robust and future-proof.
