Masato Kanda, Japan’s special advisor, elected new president of the Asian Development Bank.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has unanimously elected Masato Kanda, a 59-year-old special advisor to Japan's Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, as its 11th president. Kanda will take office on February 24, 2025, succeeding Masatsugu Asakawa. His extensive background in international finance and leadership roles will help the ADB address global economic challenges and promote international cooperation.
