Julia Roberts rejected a sequel to the 1999 romantic comedy "Notting Hill" due to a proposed storyline where her character Anna and Hugh Grant's character Will would get divorced. In an interview with IndieWire, writer Richard Curtis revealed that Roberts felt the idea wouldn't do justice to the original film's charm. Despite this, both actors continue to be involved in new film projects.
