India implements new telecom rules to trace messages and combat fraud, possibly causing OTP delays.

Starting December 1, 2024, India's Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI) will enforce new rules to trace the origin of commercial messages and OTPs to combat fraud and spam. This may lead to temporary delays in OTPs and messages from banks and e-commerce sites. Despite concerns, TRAI assures that OTPs for net banking and Aadhaar will not be delayed. Users are advised to secure their accounts with additional measures like enabling 2FA.
