Hackers, calling themselves "Waste," allegedly stole $17 million from Uganda's central bank earlier this month by accessing its IT systems. The hacking group, believed to be based in Southeast Asia, sent part of the stolen funds to Japan, according to unnamed bank sources. The Bank of Uganda is conducting an audit and the country's spy agency is investigating the incident, highlighting the need for better cybersecurity measures.
