Germany's intelligence chief, Bruno Kahl, warns that Russia's sabotage against Western targets may lead NATO to consider invoking Article 5, its mutual defense clause. Kahl stated that Russia's use of hybrid warfare and its military advancements, demonstrated in the Ukraine war, could make NATO a target by the end of the decade. Article 5 obliges NATO members to assist any member under attack.
