BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, is reportedly close to acquiring HPS Investment Partners, a major private credit firm, for about $12 billion. HPS manages over $100 billion in assets. This deal, expected to be announced after Thanksgiving, would expand BlackRock's alternative assets significantly. Neither company has officially commented on the acquisition.
