ACCC sues Webjet for allegedly misleading customers on flight prices and bookings from 2018 to 2024.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has filed a lawsuit against online travel booking site Webjet, alleging misleading customers about flight prices and bookings. Webjet is accused of not disclosing mandatory fees ranging from $34.90 to $54.90 and confirming bookings without actually securing flights with airlines. The conduct occurred between 2018 and 2024, affecting 382 bookings. The ACCC seeks penalties, declarations, and consumer redress through the Federal Court action. Webjet claims it has improved fee disclosure practices.
