Son of Malaysia's third-richest man gave up $5B inheritance to become a Buddhist monk.

Ajahn Siripanyo, son of the third-richest man in Malaysia with a fortune over $5 billion, renounced his inheritance at age 18 to become a Buddhist monk. Initially ordained temporarily in Thailand, he now leads a simple life as the abbot of Dtao Dum Monastery on the Thailand-Myanmar border. Fluent in eight languages and raised in the UK, he maintains a balanced relationship with his father, a committed philanthropist and Buddhist.
