Over a third of English areas report very low satisfaction with roads, amid a "dismal" cycle of pothole repairs.

Recent research shows over a third of English council areas have public satisfaction with local roads at 10% or below. The AA calls the situation "dismal," noting a cycle of potholes reappearing after repairs. The government plans to invest an additional £500 million to fix about one million potholes, but the total repair cost is estimated at £16.3 billion.
