Ohio State Highway Patrol intensifies patrols this Thanksgiving to curb fatal crashes and enforce seat belt use.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is increasing its presence on the roads during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend to promote safe driving and reduce fatal crashes. From November 27 to December 1, troopers will focus on impaired driving and seat belt violations. Last year, there were 12 fatal crashes, five involving alcohol or drugs, and the patrol made 326 impaired driving arrests. Governor Mike DeWine urges drivers to wear seat belts, avoid distractions, and drive responsibly. Ohio expects a record number of travelers, with nearly 3 million people on the roads. AAA advises vehicle checks and emergency kit preparation, and new EV charging stations are being installed across the state.
