NSW police officer found guilty of manslaughter for taser use on 95-year-old dementia patient.

A New South Wales police officer, Kristian James Samuel White, has been found guilty of manslaughter for fatally tasering 95-year-old Clare Nowland, who had dementia and was holding a steak knife at a nursing home in Cooma. The jury rejected his claim that the use of the Taser was necessary, finding his actions criminally negligent. Nowland fell and hit her head after being tasered, leading to her death a week later. White now faces a lengthy jail sentence.
