Mississippi State University is expanding its veterinary facilities with $18M to address rural vet shortages.

Mississippi State University plans to expand its College of Veterinary Medicine facilities with $18 million, including a new cattle handling facility, a renovated equine hospital, and an expanded small animal wing. The project aims to address the shortage of veterinary services in rural areas and includes establishing the Center for Rural Veterinary Practice to retain more veterinarians in rural Mississippi. Construction is set to start within a year, with the goal of providing world-class veterinary teaching and service.
