India allocates $3.4B for a 1,637 km highway in Arunachal Pradesh to counter China's influence.

The Indian government has allocated ₹28,229 crore for the Arunachal Frontier Highway, a 1,637 km strategic road project near the India-China border. Aimed at countering China's influence and boosting local socio-economic development, the highway will connect 1,683 villages from Bomdila to Vijaynagar. The Border Roads Organisation is leading the project, expected to be completed by 2027.
