Georgia and Missouri expand deer meat donations to food banks, aiding hunger relief efforts.

Two states are boosting their programs to donate hunter-harvested deer meat to food banks. Georgia's Hunters for the Hungry received a $300,000 investment to provide 140,000 pounds of venison, while Missouri's Share the Harvest has distributed 4.3 million pounds since 1992, with 247,575 pounds donated last year. North Dakota's Sportsmen Against Hunger, operational for two decades, saw a slight drop in donations. The US Department of Agriculture also announced $500 million to help rural communities buy fresh produce for food pantries.
