Federal mediation in the Canada Post strike is paused as parties remain far apart on key issues.

Federal mediation in the Canada Post strike has been temporarily suspended as the special mediator found the parties too far apart on critical issues. Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon has called a meeting with Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. The strike, involving about 55,000 workers since November 15, demands fair wages and better conditions, but Canada Post argues this would increase costs and reduce flexibility. Once productive talks resume, the mediator will re-engage.
