Dr. Faustine Ndugulile, Tanzania's newly elected World Health Organization (WHO) Africa director, died at 55 while receiving treatment in India. He was set to begin his term in February 2025. Ndugulile, a former Tanzanian deputy health minister, had a distinguished career in public health and politics. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan expressed condolences. The cause of death was not disclosed.
