Calgary councillor Richard Pootmans resigns due to personal reasons, ending his second term.
Calgary city councillor Richard Pootmans has resigned due to personal and family reasons, taking effect immediately. Pootmans previously served on the council from 2010 to 2017 and was re-elected in 2021. Mayor Jyoti Gondek thanked him for his 10 years of service and noted that other councillors will temporarily represent Ward 6 until the next election.
