South Korean insurers report a 13.2% rise in net income for the first nine months of 2021.

South Korean insurance companies saw a 13.2% rise in combined net income in the first nine months of 2021, with life insurers' net income up 12.6% to 5.31 trillion won and non-life insurers' up 13.6% to 8.09 trillion won. Total preliminary net income for 53 insurers reached 13.4 trillion won, and premium income increased 4.8% to 170.09 trillion won. Returns on assets and equity also improved, reaching 1.44% and 11.35%, respectively.
