Canadian woman arrested at Toronto airport for trying to smuggle $248,000 worth of cannabis to UK.

A 26-year-old woman, Justyne Carmen Burger-Samules, was arrested at Toronto Pearson International Airport for trying to transport 62 kilograms of cannabis, worth about $248,000, to London. Despite cannabis being legal in Canada, it is illegal to carry it on international flights. The Canada Border Services Agency and RCMP seized the drugs, and Burger-Samules was charged with violating the Cannabis Act. In the UK, such an offense can lead to up to 14 years in prison.
