Canadian veterans are marking the 60th anniversary of the UN peacekeeping mission in Cyprus, UNFICYP, recalling their efforts to ease tensions between Greek and Turkish Cypriots since 1964. Over 28,000 Canadians served, with nearly 30 losing their lives. Despite improvements in the region, ethnic divisions persist, and Canada maintains a presence there.
