Australian livestock markets report high demand and prices, despite processing challenges in Victoria.

The recent livestock sales in Queensland and Victoria reported strong turnout and high prices for cattle. In Queensland, the Biggenden sale featured 2,830 cattle, with notable prices for Droughtmaster and Simmental cross bullocks. Prices in Victoria softened due to a cattle processing backlog, but overall, the market showed positive demand. In south-west Australia, a record 3,110 cattle were sold due to dry conditions. The market clearance rates were solid at 67% for cattle and 63% for sheep, with significant price gains in key categories.
