Supreme Court lets stand FDA's requirement for graphic health warnings on cigarette packages.
The Supreme Court has declined to hear a challenge from major tobacco companies against the FDA's requirement for graphic health warnings on cigarette packages and ads.
These warnings, which cover at least half of the package and a fifth of ads, were ruled constitutional by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.
The Court's decision leaves the existing labels in place, though the case could resurface in the future.
