The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in India has attached assets worth ₹219 crore in a money laundering case against the 'Fairplay' website. The site allegedly engaged in illegal online betting and broadcasted cricket matches without permission. Under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, the ED seized demat account holdings and properties like land and warehouses. The total asset attachment now exceeds ₹331 crore. Krish Laxmichand Shah, the key figure behind 'Fairplay,' registered multiple companies abroad for these operations.
