Fine Gael's support in Ireland's election drops to 22%, tying with rivals as independents gain.

In the lead-up to Ireland's general election on Friday, a poll by the Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks shows Fine Gael's support has dropped 4 points to 22%, placing it on par with Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin, both at 20%. Independents and other parties have gained ground, rising to 19%. The poll of 1,420 people has a margin of error of +/- 2.6%. The decline in Fine Gael's popularity is attributed to recent campaign missteps.
