EU files WTO case against China over tariffs on brandy exports, escalating trade dispute.

The European Union has filed a case with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against China over tariffs on brandy exports, escalating a trade dispute. China imposed anti-dumping duties of 30.6% to 39% on European brandy, particularly French cognac, in response to EU tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles. The EU claims these measures are not fact-based and violate WTO rules. This is the first step in a lengthy dispute resolution process.
