Chinese transgender woman wins compensation after being forced into conversion therapy.

A Chinese transgender woman, Ling'er, won 60,000 yuan ($8,300) in compensation from a hospital for forced electroshock therapy. Diagnosed with an "anxiety disorder and discordant sexual orientation," Ling'er underwent seven treatments, leading to heart problems. She hopes her case will improve rights for the LGBTQ+ community in China, where conversion therapy remains a legal grey area despite homosexuality no longer being classified as a disorder.
