CentrePort in New Zealand tests a battery system to enhance energy resilience and support green operations.

CentrePort, New Zealand's largest port, is testing a 1MWh/500kW battery energy storage system (BESS) to boost energy resilience and support low-emission operations. Backed by a $500,000 loan from Ara Ake, this initiative complements CentrePort's existing solar array and electric truck fleet. The project aims to show the commercial benefits of BESS solutions in managing energy constraints and enhancing critical infrastructure resilience.
