Sabarimala temple in India sees pilgrim numbers double to over 600,000 in nine days, boosting revenue.

The Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple in India has seen a significant surge in pilgrims, with over 600,000 visitors in the first nine days of the Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrimage, compared to 303,501 last year. Revenue has also risen to Rs 41.64 crore. The Travancore Devaswom Board attributes this to improved management and facilities, and emphasizes environmental responsibility by discouraging the use of plastics.
