Resident pushes for lower speed limit near home after son's death, despite town's safety data.
A Niskayuna resident, Tom Klett, has been pushing for years to lower the 30-mph speed limit near his home on Consaul Road, citing safety and personal loss after his son died in a hit-and-run. The town, led by Police Chief Jordan Kochan, maintains that traffic data shows the road is operating safely with average speeds at 32-34 mph, and that current patrols are sufficient. Despite this, Klett continues to advocate for further safety measures.
