Police in India's Hubballi-Dharwad penalize over 100 drivers for using mobile phones while driving.

The Hubballi-Dharwad Police in India have launched a campaign to reduce mobile phone usage while driving, targeting all vehicle types. Police Commissioner N Shashikumar noted the initiative follows numerous public complaints. On the first day, over 100 drivers were penalized, with fines ranging from ₹1,500 to ₹3,000. The campaign also aims to prevent accidents and promote safer driving practices, including checking if minors have driving licenses.
