Nigerian non-profit urges new president to investigate alleged $130M theft from humanitarian funds.
A non-profit group, SERAP, has called on Nigeria's new President, Bola Tinubu, to investigate alleged theft of over N57 billion from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs in 2021. SERAP wants the Attorney General and anti-corruption agencies to probe the misuse of funds and any found guilty to face prosecution. Recovered funds should help cover the 2025 budget deficit and reduce government borrowing, as per the group's recommendations.
