Fire destroys about 1,000 homes in Manila slum, leaving 2,000 families homeless.

A massive fire swept through a densely populated slum area in Manila on Sunday, destroying approximately 1,000 homes and leaving around 2,000 families homeless. The blaze, which started on the second floor of a house, spread rapidly due to the light and combustible nature of the structures. Despite the extensive damage, no casualties have been reported, though some firefighters were injured. The Philippine Air Force and Coast Guard assisted in extinguishing the fire. The cause is under investigation.
