Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders escaped serious injury after a low hit from Kansas' Dean Miller during the first half of their game. Despite landing awkwardly, Sanders returned immediately to the game. Colorado was penalized for having an offensive lineman downfield rather than roughing the passer. The Buffaloes scored to narrow Kansas' lead to 20-14, but Kansas extended their lead to 23-14 at halftime.
