Vancouver sees crime drop by over 10% in 2024, continuing a trend since 2019.

In Vancouver, violent and property crimes have decreased by 6.6% and 10.7% respectively in the first nine months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. This trend, seen across all patrol districts, has been ongoing since 2019, with total crimes dropping from 56,807 in 2019 to 46,259 in 2023. Police Chief Adam Palmer attributes the decline to enhanced police efforts, new officers, and mental health support.
