The University of Georgia's Iron Horse statue returns after renovations, set on newly gifted land.
The University of Georgia's iconic Iron Horse statue, a 12-foot, 2-ton sculpture created in 1954 by Abbott Pattison, has returned to its original location in Greene County after extensive renovations.
Removed in May due to corrosion and damage from the elements, the statue underwent cleaning, joint reinforcement, and repainting.
The Curtis family recently gifted the land, now known as the Iron Horse Plant Sciences Farm, to the university, ensuring the landmark's preservation for future generations.
