Three-vehicle crash on Maine Turnpike causes injuries, lane closures; investigation ongoing.

A three-vehicle crash occurred early Friday morning on the Maine Turnpike in Auburn. The accident involved a passenger vehicle, a box truck, and a tractor-trailer. The passenger vehicle veered into the box truck, which then hit the tractor-trailer and rolled over a guardrail. The box truck driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The turnpike was reduced to one lane for 2.5 hours. Wet roads and speed are believed to be contributing factors, and the investigation is ongoing.
