Residents in a Winnipeg high-rise were evacuated due to elevated carbon monoxide levels.

Residents of a high-rise in Winnipeg's Osborne Village were briefly evacuated after carbon monoxide levels reached up to 15 parts per million, exceeding Health Canada's limit of 10 ppm. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a CO alarm, and while some residents were evacuated and others sheltered in place, no medical attention was needed. The incident may have been caused by the building's heating system. Authorities stress the importance of installing CO alarms on every level of homes, especially near sleeping areas, and advise leaving the building and calling 911 if an alarm sounds.
