Federal judge reduces Proud Boys member Marc Bru's sentence by a year due to Supreme Court ruling.

Federal judge James Boasberg reduced Marc Bru's prison sentence by a year, from six to five years, following a Supreme Court ruling. Bru, a Proud Boys member, stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, and insulted the judge during his trial. Despite his disruptive behavior, Bru's sentence was lowered due to the Supreme Court's limitation on a federal obstruction law. Over 1,500 have been charged in connection with the Capitol riot.
