Archaeologists find a Ptolemaic-era temple in Egypt with hieroglyphs and royal engravings.
A joint Egyptian-German archaeological team has discovered a Ptolemaic-era temple in Sohag, Egypt, dating from 332 BC to 30 BC. The temple, about 51 meters wide, features two towers and an entrance gate, with hieroglyphs and engravings of a king receiving the goddess "Repyt." Initial studies suggest it was built during King Ptolemy VIII's reign and may have been as tall as the Luxor Temple.
