US imposes sanctions on Gazprombank and others to fundraise for Russia's war in Ukraine.

The US has imposed sanctions on Gazprombank, Russia's largest remaining unsanctioned bank, to hinder Russia's ability to fund its war in Ukraine. The sanctions block transactions with American entities and freeze the bank's US assets. Additionally, over 50 Russian banks, 40 securities registrars, and 15 finance officials have been targeted. The move aims to weaken Russia's military efforts and prevent it from evading sanctions. The US also plans to send $275 million in weapons to Ukraine.
