Ulster Bank has identified a system error that overcharged around 90,000 mortgage customers in Ireland, with the average overcharge being about €50. The issue affected various types of mortgages and was discovered as the bank withdrew from Ireland. Ulster Bank will compensate affected customers, many of whom now have mortgages with AIB and PTSB, with the problem expected to be fully resolved by mid-next year.
