Two convicted rapists are conditionally released with strict monitoring due to housing delays.

Two sexually violent predators, Alvin Ray Quarles and Merle Wade Wakefield, have been conditionally released from a state hospital in San Diego due to the lack of permanent housing. Both men, convicted of rape, will be monitored 24/7 with GPS, security guards, and law enforcement as they stay in temporary housing. Wakefield is scheduled for release next week and may reside in an RV if other housing is unavailable. The process of finding suitable housing for such individuals typically takes about 19 months.
