Supreme Court orders India to address bonded labor trafficking, especially of children, amid rescue aid failures.

The Supreme Court of India has ordered the central government to meet with states and union territories to address inter-state trafficking of bonded laborers, particularly children. Only 1,101 out of 5,264 rescued bonded laborers in Uttar Pradesh received financial aid. The court emphasized the need for a simplified process for immediate financial assistance and asked for the Attorney General and National Human Rights Commission's involvement.
